This is an excellent entry from 2010 National Geographic Global Photo Contest China region, shot by photographer Wu Jianhui. It captures the stunning moment of two breeding Chinese pond herons fighting mid-air above the water. Flying water droplets, spread white wings and dark blurred water background create strong contrast, vividly showing the vibrant wild life of water birds.
