This is an excellent entry from 2010 National Geographic Global Photography Contest China Region, shot by photographer Fu Qiang at Bashang Grassland, China. It captures the warm autumn morning light, rolling meadows dyed golden by sunlight, dotted with orange-red birch trees with white trunks. Distant hills are covered with thin residual snow, showing unique texture of late autumn and early winter. A herd of cattle walks slowly along the dirt road, casting long shadows. The whole scene is quiet and vast, presenting the unique poetic charm of Bashang Grassland in autumn.
