This is an excellent entry from 2010 National Geographic Global Photography Contest China Region, shot by photographer Guo Yucai. Using shallow depth of field macro technique, it features a rare blooming red-white striped peony with crystal water droplets on petals, next to an unopened bright red peony bud. Blurred dark green leaves in background create strong color contrast, showing peony's elegant temperament and vibrant spring vitality.
