This is an excellent entry from the 2011 National Geographic Global Photo Contest China Region, shot by photographer Chai Ping. The subject is a plasma ball against pure black background, with warm red glow on the sphere, multiple blue-purple glow arcs spreading outward, showing wonderful electrostatic discharge effect, with dreamy light and full futuristic tech sense.
