This is an excellent entry from 2010 National Geographic Global Photography Contest China region, shot by photographer Ding Genhou. The macro shot captures the precious moment of cicada eclosion: the newly emerged bright yellow cicada with translucent light green wings clings to a thin grass stem, with its old molted shell hanging below. Blurred soft green foliage background highlights the wonderful life transformation in the micro natural world.
