This is an aerial view of Haiti's World Heritage Site La Citadelle Laferriere. This giant stone fortress built in early 19th century sits on a mountain top nearly 1000 meters above sea level, and is one of the largest military forts in the Americas. Half hidden by swirling mist, it is surrounded by winding mountain roads, lush tropical hills and rolling distant mountains, presenting a grand, mysterious and vicissitudes atmosphere under overcast clouds.
