Golden Autumn Larch Forest In Chinese Alpine Valley

This is an excellent entry of 2011 National Geographic Global Photo Contest China region, photographed by Chen Shanbing. It shows the stunning autumn scenery of high altitude mountains in western Sichuan, China. The steep rocky valley occupies the left part of the frame, while the sunlit slope on the right is covered with golden larches glowing in sunlight, presenting a magnificent and healing alpine autumn landscape.
