This is an aerial close-up of the Gallo-Roman ruins archaeological excavation site at Pontchartrain, Yvelines, France. Neatly arranged ancient building foundation test pits are clearly visible in the loess layer, retaining the settlement outline of the Gallo-Roman civilization over 2000 years ago. Black dust-proof geotextiles are laid around the excavation area, with scattered wooden support components for archaeological work, and tiny figures of working archaeologists can be seen. The site provides precious physical materials for studying Roman period settlements around the Paris region, full of heavy historical vicissitudes.
