This is an excellent entry of 2011 National Geographic Global Photography Contest China Division, shot by photographer Lin Xu. Taken from high aerial perspective, it presents the unique gully landform of China's Loess Plateau. Warm morning and evening light sweeps across rolling mountains, interlaced light and shadow outline the delicate texture of the earth, showing the magnificent natural beauty of northwest China.
