This is a documentary work from the 2012 National Geographic Global Photography Contest China Division, shot by photographer Zhang Zhi. It depicts the daily scene in front of old residential buildings in a Chinese old town: local elders sit and chat, hand-woven bamboo farm tools are placed beside them, and a folk fortune-telling stall is set on the right side of the street. Mottled walls, faded Spring Festival couplets and worn bluestone pavement present the warm, nostalgic slow-paced street life of old Chinese towns.
